LOCATION: Anchored in Rovinj, Croatia
WEATHER: Another lovely day. Sunny. High 75
We did our own thing again today, rather than take a ship excursion. Rovinj turned out to be our favorite spot. Quiet, with no crowds. We were the only cruise ship in the port, and most of the people on the street appeared to be local.
Our first stop as we walked around was the plaza where they were having an antique car display.
The cathedral overlooks the city and dominates the skyline.
We walked up to the top. Locals were dressed up in their finery and were filing into church
Back down through the old town on limestone steps. Cute shops and restaurants.
Lots of people were drinking their expresso after church and eating gelato. The gelato display is a work of art.
We found a cute out-of-the-way cafe and had a Croatian beer.
DINNER: We ate “under the stars” on the top deck of the ship at the steak/seafood restaurant. George had red snapper and I had grilled chicken. We ate with two Australians whom we had met earlier. Such delightful people.
We danced a bit in the lounge with the Australians. We had the lounge practically to ourselves as most people were in their rooms packing their massive suitcases.
