LOCATION: Housesitting in Jocotepec, Jalisco, Mexico
WEATHER: Sunny. High 91
Alexis and I caught the bus on our street corner, and headed to Ajijic. The bus was packed again. Not sure if it is just people going to work, or whether it is due to the holidays this week.
I went to my line-dancing class at the Lake Chapala Society. I manage to do ok with a few dances, although they are all new to me. While I was dancing, Alexis explored the grounds…
We shopped in the cute shops next to the Lake Chapala Society (the area that caters to gringos). We stumbled upon this shop where weavers were making napkins and other goods.
I bought some napkins for the Airstream.
Alexis took us to a vegan-friendly restaurant she had found online, where we sat next to their garden. She had a coconut meat ceviche salad and a green citrus drink; I had a half of hummus sandwich. All quite good!
Then, we walked from the center of town to western Ajijic, about 1.5 miles in the HOT sun to the brewpub. Friends Steve and Ada were there, so we chatted a while.
Back home, we all (Frida, Alexis, and I) had a nice siesta.
DINNER: Shrimp tacos with sauteed onions, peppers and mushrooms. Enjoyed on the patio.
