CAMPGROUND: 2nd night at Autumn Woods RV Park
LOCATION: Rochester, Minnesota – in SE part of state
WEATHER: Feels like fall. Partly cloudy. High 60
We can’t believe how Rochester continues to grow. As we drive through downtown, we gawk at all the new construction and changes.
We met up with our daughter Alexis and her boyfriend’s parents for brunch in a downtown vegetarian restaurant. It is so good to see her again.
Then, off to the beauty shop for me. Every time I return to Rochester, one of the first things I do is to go to the beautician that cut my hair during the years that we lived here. So, she fixed me up again. I feel much better!
Alexis belongs to a CSA (Consumer Supported Agriculture). Each week during the summer, she receives a share of produce from a farm. Today the farm owners invited all its customers and their friends for a picnic on the farm. So, we drove toward Spring Valley, in a beautiful area south of Rochester.
The farm is beautiful, and huge. The picnic was mostly vegetable dishes. I took succotash and a zucchini/mushroom bake. I sat next to a family from St. Paul, and learned that the majority of the CSA customers live in Minneapolis/St. Paul. The farm delivers the produce there weekly. Quite a business!
The children did this garden art
We took a tour of the farm with one of the workers. Pretty amazing.
Returning to Rochester, we hung out with our daughter Alexis and her boyfriend. They live in a small apartment next to St. Marys Hospital.
We stopped at one of our favorite pubs on the way back, and shared a few meatballs, calling that dinner.
