It was a peaceful night last night – only some distant fireworks and music. The fireworks scared our little dog a bit, but he made it ok through the night.
A quiet day, since most shops are closed. George spent some time cleaning the swimming pool.
The owners have converted it into a fish pond and planted water lilies and other plants to filter the water naturally. There are small gold fish living in the pool that we (as well as the ibis) can spot. The owners swim in the pool but there is too much slimy algae for me.
George made us lovely smoothies – with pineapple, mango, and passion fruit. Really tasty!
I read somewhere that a lot of Europeans have a tradition of watching “Dinner For One” on New Year’s. We found it on UTUBE so watched it. Kind of cute
Right at 4:00, the time for the dogs’ walk, the sky opened up and we had a big thunderstorm. Not able to go to the park, we tried to just walk the dogs around the yard. They were not too impressed.
DINNER: Leftover pork roast, salad, and curried lentils. Working our way through leftovers – 4 more dinners here!
