LOCATION: In our tiny house in Retama Village in Mission, Texas
WEATHER: Quite nice. High 80
Wow – retirement is not slow-paced! I did chair yoga, 2 hours of line dancing, and a water aerobic class. Pooped! Then, in the afternoon, George and I worked on an online safe-driving course through AARP that is supposed to reduce the cost of our car insurance. It is so boring and seems to take forever!
We had already done early voting, so didn’t have to squeeze that in today.
George went to one of our neighborhood driveway happy hour parties while I got spiffed up for our evening out.
Tonight’s big excitement was going to the McAllen theatre to see “Jersey Boys”. We hitched a ride with other Retama Village residents that were attending, and went together to a great Mexican restaurant, Don Pepe’s, for dinner before the show. Check it out at http://donpepesmcallen.com/. We shared a platter of fajitas. Unfortunately, I ate too much – filling up with the complimentary tortilla chips/salsa and soup before the entree was served. We even had a guitarrist serenade us at our table.
The theatre complex is very, very nice – quite surprising for the fairly small city in which we live. There are always a lot of concerts and shows.
Here I am waiting for the show to start. I wore the outfit that I bought at last year’s fashion show.
A late night – returning at about 10:30 – way past our bedtime!
