LOCATION: In our tiny house in Retama Village, in Mission, Texas
WEATHER: Hot and sunny in the AM; stormy in the PM
The self-isolation is getting me down. Not too much to talk about today. The high point was doing the laundry…..so that is a good indication of how slow it was.
Two water aerobics classes and several walks around the neighborhood filled the morning. I can’t complain!
Then, in the afternoon, the skies opened up and we had a real downpour. This is the first good rain we have had here since October. Everyone was very happy to get the rain. Since the ground is so dry and hard, it didn’t absorb well. We had rivers going down the street in front of our house. This is the area of new construction and the pickle-ball court…
Another Facebook memory popped up today, another one from two years ago during our cruise around Italy and Croatia. This photo was taken at a lovely seaside town in Croatia. It was a small port, so only small cruise ships like ours can dock here. We wandered the streets and found this cute cafe with wine and wifi. All the essentials!
We certainly hope we can do our cruise this fall in the Mediterranean, but who knows. I think the uncertainty is what is depressing.
DINNER: Left-over jambalaya to which I added more okra, shrimp, and andouille sausage. Not bad for leftovers! Side was steamed asparagus with a mayo/horseradish sauce.
Thank goodness for a good book today!
