LOCATION: An Air B&B cabin outside of Duluth
WEATHER: Another gorgeous day. High 68
We had researched the timing of the ships going under the lift bridge in Duluth, so rushed there in the morning to see one pass under the bridge at 9:45. It is pretty spectacular. This one is carrying limestone.
We walked around the lake front
We did some shopping, including a stop at the Duluth Trading Company. Great quality items, but a little pricey.
Lunch was a stop at Canal Park Brewery, right on the waterfront. Very nice
Then, we checked out a distillery run by my friend’s nephew.
We returned to the cabin in the early afternoon to enjoy the beauty and amenities here.
My childhood friend Nancy came up to spend some time with us.
We explored the house more and found a game room with more beds in the attic. Fun!
George and Alexis took out a canoe…
Then, a nice fire on the cabin’s deck.
I’m having a ball cooking up food for everyone. Nancy brought up a bag of apples and made apple streudel. In addition to meals, I am making meals for Alexis to take home with her.
DINNER: Lentil soup over rice. Side was a caprese salad and naan.
