We relaxed at Chandler Hill Campground in the morning. I took a hike up to the overlook.
I guess we campers can use the firepit, enjoy the view, etc from up there – sharing the space with Big Foot
On the way back down, I walked along one of the dirt trails used by the ATVers. This morning, about 30 people rented ATVs and took off together on the trails. This is what the trails look like…
Then – to Petoskey where we will stay until we go to Ontario on Saturday. I had a really hard time finding a campground with availability here. The only one was this KOA. I don’t think we have ever spent so much on a campsite! Way, way too much for what you get. No view, nothing special. We won’t be using any of the amenities. The swimming pool is full of rowdy kids. Supply and demand, I guess!
After we got set up, we stopped at Walgreen’s to pick up the official results of our Covid test — negative, of course. Then, to downtown Petoskey to check out a brewpub. The downtown area is really cute. This pub has views of Lake Michigan….
While we were there, we chatted with another couple. They are camping at the Petoskey RV Resort – at $125/night! Nothing special there, either.
Back at the RV park, George got a fire going. Since we cannot take fresh vegetables in to Canada, we grilled everything we have. I squeezed a bunch of limes so I can take that with us (for possible margaritas!)
DINNER: Leftover brats and leftover grits to which I added some onions and cheese. Sides were corn on the cob and salad – need to finish all this before Canada.
